LinkedIn & Strategic Networking: Building Community through Trust, Respect and Contribution
This training will be held in English and in person
LinkedIn today is much more than a job board – it is the modern continuation of letter writing. In history, people wrote letters not only to inform but to introduce themselves, share stories, and connect when they felt there was something in common. On LinkedIn, the same principle applies: your profile becomes your first letter of introduction, your content becomes your public storytelling, and your messages become the personal letters that open the door to trust and community.
In this interactive 3-hour workshop, you will learn how to apply the IBV Triad (IBV=International Bond Values)– Trust, Respect, and Contribution – as a compass for all your networking activities.
You will work step by step on:
- Profile setup and audit: how to present yourself clearly and authentically.
- Content creation: how to share posts that attract the right people by offering value.
- Strategic connection building: how to write authentic messages and requests that lead to lasting relationships.
- Community mapping: how to identify and engage with groups at KIT, in professional
circles, and online. - 30-second pitch practice: how to introduce yourself in a way that communicates
confidence, value, and purpose.
Why this training is important to you:
The training combines theory, personal storytelling, peer-feedback, and hands-on practice. It is designed especially for international students who want to feel more confident in professional networking, present themselves authentically, and build communities that lead to opportunities.
At the end of the training , you will leave with a clearer understanding of how to use LinkedIn not only for job searching but for building belonging. When you build belonging through trust, respect, and contribution, opportunities will follow – whether jobs, collaborations, co-founders, or invitations into new communities.
This interactive training with group activities and discussions is hosted by Iman Baratvakili, Coach & Research Associate at KIT/Project manager at Stadt Baden-Baden. This training takes place at building 30.95, room "Forum".
